The Latest and (Mostly) Greatest #4 by Dan!
Welcome back to the internet’s most exhausted reviews! If you see the quality dipping I’ll blame it on the school semester, and we’ll see if Phil bans me from ever writing blog posts again. A very nice, very light week arrives at your local comic shop this week, just in time for the schools to be back in session! Don’t worry, I’ve got an opinion on a fair amount of them. Also, I’m watching the movie Seven while I write this, so that should lead to an interesting state of mind. Let’s do this! My Top Five (The Five Best Comics of the Week) Buzzard #3 Writer/Artist: Eric Powell Just a reminder for all of you, Eric Powell is one of (if not The) best writer/artist combinations out in the market today. If you’re looking for consistently … Continue reading

Phil’s Reviews — Stuff I Bought #175
Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour — Writer/Artist: Bryan Lee O’Malley Yes, it’s a satisfying conclusion, and a cultural phenomenon, and about to be a movie — but don’t read this volume if you’ve never heard of it until now: it’s the sixth and last book of a series. Go get Scott Pilgrim #1, start there, and work up to the end. That way, you’ll get to see O’Malley develop over the six years it took to create this story (there’s a noticeable leap in storytelling ability with each of the first five books), and you’ll get to know and care for … Continue reading
