The Latest and (Mostly) Greatest #1 By Dan!

Hey folks! With the new website running smoothly, we’ve decided to change things up just a little bit.  Reviews will now only be one post per week, but The Professor and I will both have a different column on Sundays!  So get ready for some slight changes.  Also, make sure to wear a helmet, in case I blow your mind! My Top Five (The five best comics of the week) Batman 701 Writer: Grant Morrison Artist: Tony Daniel Morrison’s Batman run has been one of the crazier things of the past couple years, which is no big surprise.  Here he … Continue reading

Stuff That Was Awesome #2

So even with a light week, there’s still plenty of stuff worth reading, and I’m here to tell you what it is! Flash #3 Writer: Geoff Johns Artist: Francis Manapul Oh man.  This Flash series has been some of the best stuff that I’ve read lately.  Very interesting ideas, new characters, and plenty of potential.  I’m not a very big fan of Manapul, but he is really cranking out his best material on this book.  Johns writes it as well as he can, and it’s clear he really enjoys it.  Even Eddie liked this, so I must be right! Secret … Continue reading

Stuff That Wasn’t Very Awesome #2

And we’re back!  This was a lighter week, but don’t worry, I still found some mediocrity in there.  So let’s get to it! Justice League of America #46 Writer: James Robinson Artist: Mark Bagley Justice Society of America #40 Writer: Bill Willingham Artist: Jesus Merino This was rough.  I haven’t really liked anything about the Robinson-Bagley run so far.  It’s been a series of weird narration and what seems like half done Bagley art.  This is no exception.  I really do like Bagley, he’s on time, usually passable to look at, and fairly consistent, but that’s not what we’re getting … Continue reading

Stuff That Was Awesome #1 By Dan!

And here’s the good stuff!  Feel free to leave comments about how much you love my taste! Hellblazer #268 Writer: Peter Milligan Artist: Giuseppe Camuncoli Milligan’s run on Hellblazer is literally getting better by the issue.  He’s digging deeper into the psyche of a broken John Constantine, and that’s creating some of the best Vertigo madness in a long time.  Add in Shade the Changing Man (Which post-Ditko became Milligan’s baby) and this is the perfect book for the fans of the weird.  Add in a mutilated and removed thumb, and you’ve got yourself a book of the week. DC … Continue reading

Stuff That Wasn’t Very Awesome #1 by Dan!

New site, new reviews, new comics, my new blog title and me! What more do you need?  Let’s see how fast I can screw up this new format! Dark Wolverine #87 Writers: Daniel Way, Marjorie Liu Artist: Mierco Pierfederici That’s right, I’m using a picture for this one.  I honestly think this comic was the worst of the week, for a multitude of reasons.  Daken is just floating around flirting his way to the underground in France.  He’s stopping kidnappers (not as cool as Taken) and attempting to seduce them before murder.  Up next is a Franken-Castle crossover that hopes to get better, … Continue reading
