Liberty Annual 2012 — Creators: Various This is the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund’s annual moneyraising effort; they’re a First Amendment organization whose primary purpose is to defend comic book retailers (and publishers and creators) from legal challenges when some local parent or prosecutor decides that a comic is obscene. To a journalism major like me, that’s a noble goal; they’ve kept a lot of people out of jail (or from losing their stores) just because they sold someone a comic book. Hate Annual #9 — Creator: Peter Bagge This doesn’t come out that often, but it’s always a pleasure to read, and a comfort to know that Bagge is still out there, chronicling the continuing adventures of Buddy and Lisa and their respective families (and that they’re all just as screwed-up and oddly compelling as always). The Latest and (Mostly) Greatest #19

Oh man, I’m getting way more efficient with this whole thing; look at how early these are done! My Top 5 (The 5 Best Comics of the Week) Batman Inc #4 Writer: Grant Morrison Artist: Chris Burnham You ever get tired of  me worshiping this title?  Well get over it.  I’m not a huge fan of Paquette, the artist for the first three issues, but I love me some Chris Burnham.  Take Frank Quitely.
