Getting Off My Duff #36
Hello everyone, Just a couple of items to touch base with you on this week. We changed the contents of a parking lot side display case this week to a brand spankin’ new idea! Instead of featuring individually priced issues, this new display will feature COMPLETE or near complete runs of a title at 50% OFF OF CURRENT GUIDE! We’re featuring the NEW MUTANTS #1-100 this week, all NM and bagged and boarded! (Unfortunately, #98 is missing from the batch) The set guides out at $359.00, but the entire lot is on sale for $179.50! We’ll be changing titles frequently, … Continue reading

Getting of My Duff #35
Hey Gang, I know this is starting to sound like the same old song, but I just completed another 60 or so packets to add to the store mix. I wouldn’t be adding new selections if they didn’t sell, so bare with me. Added this week were astoundingly discounted runs of FLASH (Vol 2), ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, ANIMAL MAN, DETECTIVE, and obscurities such as OUTCASTS and FRIGHT NIGHT. Getting of My Duff #34 by Marsha
Once again this tough economy has many people selling off their collections. This is creating an amazing inventory for All About Books & Comics and some great finds. The latest collection we just received includes many gems, most notably Tales of Suspense #39, the first appearance of Iron Man! We have had this book in the store only FIVE times in our 28 years. Though graded a strict VG+ 4.5, it appears nicer. Flat with great color luster! A truly key book! This and the many of the other goodies in this collection have been graded, priced and put out … Continue reading

Getting of My Duff #33
Hello all! Writing from the beautiful city of Los Angeles, Marsha and I are here to see a new theater show, produced and starred in by our son, Ben. It’s in a gorgeous area of Hollywood, containing tons of cinematic history. The air is clear today thank god, since the California fires are just about contained! We will definitely be back for new comic day, which because of the Labor Day holiday, won’t be until Thursday, Sept 10th this week. However, if you happen to stop by the store this Wednesday, last week’s deals are still in effect until 8 … Continue reading

Getting off My Duff # 32
Hey Gang! Lots to tell you this week, so bear with me while I try to be succinct! We received a really beautiful selection of Silver to Modern age CGC books in this last Saturday, and the books are on display in a Central side glass display case, waiting for collectors of high end books to come in and drool! (and hopefully purchase!) Of keynote to mention, there’s a copy of THE ATOM #1 from the Silver Age, along with TWO copies of JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #2 from 1960, and TWO copies of SHOWCASE #60, with the first Silver … Continue reading
