Phil-In: Stuff I Bought:
This is it. The moment you’ve waited for. The last set of reviews until Phil comes back! Spider-Woman #7 Writer: Brian Michael Bendis Artist: Alex Maleev So everything finally comes to a head, it’s a very good ending to the first arc, and it’s cancelled. Gee Thanks Marvel! This was the best issue of what had been a lackluster series, but it’s surprising to see the axe this quickly. They blame it on motion comics, but shouldn’t they have known that was a problem a couple issues in? Lame. Brave and the Bold #32 Writer: J. Michael Straczynski Artist: Jesus … Continue reading

Phil-In: Stuff I Read and Put Back:
That’s right folks. The second half of my two part epic reviews starts here! Siege #3 (of 4) Writer: Brian Michael Bendis Artist: Oliver Coipel Siege Embedded #3 (of 4) Writer: Brian Reed Artist: Chris Samnee Why do I hate Siege so much? Is it because everything feels a lot more forced than normal because Bendis has no idea how to pace? I think that’s the main reason. GETTING OFF MY DUFF #60
Thirty one years ago tomorrow I married a wonderful woman named Marsha Greenberg. I know it sounds syrupy, but she has been the love of my adult life. Through trials and tribulations, victories and defeats, she’s always been by my side, and for that I feel beyond fortunate. So I wish to all my single customers, gay and straight, find that special significant other in your life. Without it, there’s infinitely less meaning. Enough of my soapbox. In case you haven’t noticed, that significant other of mine has been stocking the store with some really cool items lately, all themed … Continue reading

Phil-In: Stuff I Bought by Dan Jacka
Daytripper #4 Writer/Artist: Fabio Moon and Gabriel Ba I like it. It’s pretentious, repetitive and sometimes predictable, but I do like it. My specific apologies to the Professor, but I think Moon and Ba are fully aware of what they are doing, and loving every minute of it. The pages are beautiful to look at even if the plot is a little rocky. Criminal #5 Writer: Ed Brubaker Artist: Sean Phillips There goes another round of the best crime comic currently in existence. This group as always knows what they are doing and provides it in a quick and easy … Continue reading
