Getting Off My Duff #1
Alright, so I made a commitment that every week I need to correspond with my loyal AABC customer base, so if you see me slacking, I encourage you to let me know! My intention is to keep all of you better informed of new additions, new stock, and just general changes within the store. I’ll be brief and to the point, so check back with me (a.k.a, Alan) every Tuesday for a bit of comic book info and general tomfoolery. In case you haven’t noticed yet, our long-time outside sign artist has resurfaced, and has outdone himself with a beautiful … Continue reading

Phil's Reviews — Stuff I Bought #107
Superman Beyond 3D #2 (of 2) — Writer: Grant Morrison; Pencils: Doug Mahnke; Inks: Christian Alamy with Tom Nguyen, Drew Geraci and Derek Fridolfs This is exactly the kind of sophisticated, hyperactive superhero romp we all wanted Final Crisis to be, right done to the instructions on the 3D glasses and the wink at the end (and the metatextual insights as the secret ingredient…). I’m not a big fan of Erskine’s art, but it brings a gritty realism that’s appropriate to the story. The second tale, which flashes back to the Battle of the Bulge, looks more comic-booky (almost like an inventory story), … Continue reading

Ask the Professor #25 — Wolverine's Family Tree
Recently, I was made aware that Wolverine has an older brother. Can you provide any details? Sure: The Professor’s willing to take a crack at it, although Logan’s origins have become so convoluted over the years, with all the false memories and take-backs and whatnot, that what’s “real” about Wolvie and his family is kind of hard to know (the Professor remembers back in the Claremont/Byrne era, when Sabertooth was unofficially supposed to be his father, based on their similar healing powers, savagery, and overuse of the nickname “Bub,” but then Marvel apparently decided that was too obvious, and went … Continue reading
