Marsha and I have added a ton of comic book “packets”, or if you prefer, sets in the store this week. How I’m fitting them in on the floor I don’t know, but we have a new “TOWER OF MASSIVE PACKETS” selection growing on the Central side of the store. Science Fiction is the theme on the majority of these sets, and mostly from an “Indie” perspective. Think STAR WARS, STAR TREK, and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA as a point of reference.
I also acquired a FULL run of horror fandoms longest running title, “FANGORIA,” this week. One of the absolute toughest magazine’s to find a consecutive run of, I’ll be posting the lot this week on our eBay store, under seller AMGiroux. It will be priced at…ouch!…$4,995.00. It’s steep, I know, but the lot is one of the most sought after graphically horror mag runs on eBay today. You are more than welcome to make an offer if you like.
Other acquisitions from this week: Silver Age AMAZING SPIDERMAN #17 & #20, AVENGERS #11 (which features Spiderman), and a tough one to find, AVENGERS#57, the first appearance of VISION. Eddie also picked up a cool copy of a Simon and Kirby classic, BOYS RANCH #2, from 1950, in VG+ condition.
For the regular GETTING OFF MY DUFF readers, here’s the special for this week. I’ve chosen TWO key books from the HIGH END WALL on the parking lot side of the store to discount a FULL 50% OFF! Those two books have that damn little YELLOW sticker in the upper left hand corner of the book, and if it’s a book you want, it’s yours at 50% OFF! (But only if you mention the blog!)
See ya’ on new shipment day! Take care,
Alan
