Alright, so I made a commitment that every week I need to correspond with my loyal AABC customer base, so if you see me slacking, I encourage you to let me know! My intention is to keep all of you better informed of new additions, new stock, and just general changes within the store. I’ll be brief and to the point, so check back with me (a.k.a, Alan) every Tuesday for a bit of comic book info and general tomfoolery.
In case you haven’t noticed yet, our long-time outside sign artist has resurfaced, and has outdone himself with a beautiful Central side window display, painting a panoply of Marvel and DC heroes and villains! It’s a splendid array of characters, so if you’re in the market for a sign artist, just ask and we’ll give you his name and number.
Most of you are probably aware of our 1,500 square foot on-site back issue warehouse. What you may be unaware of is that it’s full. The Professor (a.k.a, friend and colleague Phil), sorts and pulls back stock and overages each day he’s in the store. It’s what keeps, if I may be so bold, AABC’s back issue selection so fluid. (And Phil’s been doing this for AABC for 20 years!) This week we added an extra “Cover Price” back issue rack to the store’s selection. Now we have more than 500 facings of back issues….all at COVER PRICE! Current selections include DC’s ARION, ARAK, and ACTION COMICS, many going back to the Bronze Age! (1970’s). Back issue cover price Marvel’s include: UNCANNY X-MEN, X-FACTOR, X-MEN, and just added today, WOLVERINE! And for the INDIE readers, I heartily recommend a great book from the 1980’s, Don Lomax’s VIETNAM JOURNAL! It was one of my favorite comic books 20 years ago, and I can’t believe Phil uncovered such a mint stash in the back room. Cool stuff at COVER PRICE!
