Wow! What an amazing Free Comic Book Day! Thank you everyone for coming out. We gave away several thousand free comics! It was truly a very busy but a happy day for all. Kudos to our face painter Joan and our caricature artist Jason who did outstanding work. We had a lot of happy kids and adults:) Thank you, also, for the generous donations of comics for the troops. We are just packaging up the last 2 boxes. We have shipped over 500 comics to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and I’m sure they will really enjoy the reading.

Tomorrow is Cinco De Mayo! Happy Cinco de Mayo to all! Too bad we can’t celebrate with Margaritas at the store tomorrow. Somehow I’m afraid the comic subscriptions would not come out right:)
May is NBA Playoff time. The Suns are in the Playoffs against the dreaded San Antonio Spurs! Wear your Suns colors and support the team this week and get 10% off any one item!
Saturday is Alan’s birthday! Your DEAL OF THE WEEK will be a special deal from Alan if you come in and wish him a Happy Birthday:) The trick is, of course, that it has to be when Alan is in the store. So come on by and wish him a Happy Birthday tomorrow Wed. 5/5/10 before 3:30 (we’re leaving early to attend the Suns Game!), Thurs. between 3 pm and 7 pm , Mon. May 10th between 10 am – 2 pm or Tues. May 11th between 10 am and 1 pm. If you can’t make it in when Alan is there, call him during those hours, tell him what your looking for, and work out the deal over the phone and he’ll leave a note for Eddie:)

After cleaning house after FCBD we have set up some new displays worth mentioning. Alan changed out the cover price comics and there is now a really nice selection of Silver Surfer Vol. 2, all at cover price.
We recently received some vintage Star Wars and Lord of The Rings collectibles. They are now housed in the glass display case in Phil’s corner. There is a Frodo Sword and a Gandolf Sword from Lord of the Rings, a moving, talking Jar Jar Binks figure, A Darth Vader Phone, A Slave one Ship, a Darth Mall Scout droid and more. Come check it out!
