Getting Off My Duff #64

Hey Gang,
Marsha “broke down” a couple of display cases this week to add some “new” items, if ya’ call 1960’s Silver Age a new item! The case near the poster rack now houses a beautiful display of mid-1960’s Jack Kirby THOR, most in at least the VF 8.0 range. And the case facing you as you walk in from the Central side now features a gorgeous array of Silver Age AMAZING SPIDERMAN! Please check it out.

Speaking of Silver Age, our Florida connection (yeah, comics are like drugs!) has sent us another package of mostly SA DC’s! As you’re well aware of, I live for this stuff. Out of 50 or so books, the majority are in the 1962 through 1966 era, even though there are a few in the late 1950’s, mostly WORLD’S FINEST. I probably won’t get them priced before the weekend, but as I write this missive, Ashley is finishing pricing 100 or so Marvel SA and Bronze Age books, just acquired, so we’ll have those ready for you to peruse through tomorrow. Again, please ask to see them.

And as we speak of DC’s, tomorrow’s new shipment holds a couple of gems. FLASH #1 ships, along with the new FLASH promotional rings! They’ll be priced at 75 cents each, or TWO for $1.00. They’ll be at the back cash wrap on the parking lot side if you’re lookin’ for ’em on Wednesday. Also shipping is BRIGHTEST DAY #0. This will be big. “Nuff said….er, wrong comic company.

A new auction starts this Wednesday night too! This one is a mixture of Bronze, Silver, and Golden. You’ll find such items as BATMAN#26 from the WWII era, and a very nice copy of CAPTAIN MARVEL ADVENTURES #37 from 1944. A couple of items we have not had in stock in some time include CREEPY #1, the Warren magazine from 1964, and strangely, INCREDIBLE HULK #102, both on the new auction. The iconic issue of FLASH #175 is represented here, featuring the classic SUPERMAN/FLASH race! A very affordable copy of IRON FIST #14 is also available, featuring the 1st appearance of SABRETOOTH! The “Buy it Now” option is always available on our auctions, so if you’re looking for any of the above, don’t hesitate.

The 50% OFF key sets of comics continues until FREE COMIC BOOK DAY, and this week’s lot features a ONE OWNER collection of Marvel’s SGT. FURY and his HOWLING COMMANDOS! Just a beautiful run of books from the late 1960’s…at 50% OFF OVERSTREET!

And did you think I’d forget the “Deal of the Week?” Well, I almost did. But it’s this: come in and purchase TWO or more books from the new THOR and AMAZING SPIDERMAN display cases that Marsha just finished and take 20% OFF! Remember; you have to mention this week’s blog to get the deal.

See ya’ on Wednesday!
