GETTING OFF My Duff #6

OK, in our quest to rid ourselves of spam on the AABC site, we accidently deleted GOMD #5. (That’s “Getting Off My Duff #5) No biggie; I’m just glad the Professor’s comic book reviews survived the purge. The spam is interesting though. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to invest into a bank in Nigeria, or supply some extra length and girth to my, oh, forget it.

Collections are pouring in faster than I can keep up with. A collection of 2,500 mostly Marvel and DC books is rapidly becoming 100 to 150 lot sets at bargain prices of $14.95 to $19.95. Cool stuff if you’re looking for some inexpensive reading. The price is especially attractive because the lots are sold in white comic book storage boxes, an extra savings of up to $6.95! Another long time customer brought his collection in today before his move to New York. We’ll miss him, but fortunately he thought of us when he knew he had to part with his mostly Silver and Bronze age books. Lots of obscurities in here from DC and Charlton. He was also a big connoisseur of the black and white DC Showcases, so you’ll see a new huge selection of these on our current TPB and HB display table.

Here’s the deal for this week. Marsha is “breaking down” the Silver/Golden display case on the parking lot side of the store on Wednesday morning which currently features the gorgeous collection of Golden and Silver Superman family comics recently acquired from a Florida collector. In its stead will be…you guessed it…another Silver Age batch of mostly DC’s at up to 35% off Overstreet! There’s a few key Marvels in the stack, but not many for fear of contamination.

Just kidding.

See ya’ in the funny pages.
