GETTING OFF MY DUFF #58

Howdy Everybody!

We’ve been doing some early spring cleaning at the shop, and, guess what? I’ve come across another 4,000 or so comic books stashed away in a corner, just waiting to be “bulked” out! And bulked out they will be. The boxes are now in one of the white bins on the west side of the store, with stickers that read, “10 for Ten Bucks!” Yep, they’re a buck a piece if you buy ten comics from the selection. They’re cover price if you don’t buy ten books, but how could you not find 10 copies out of the selection that’s mostly Marvel and DC? Do my aching back a favor and take some of this stock off our hands!

And in a scenario that you’ve heard many times, I’ve added upwards of approximately 100 new packets as part of the store mix. This is from yet again another bulk collection I acquired from a gentleman in Yuma. Lots of “Indie” type sets here, i.e, comic books published that are not Marvel or DC. Also, the “1/2 price” bin on the parking lot side was just refilled with a bunch of half price sets. Have a gander next time you’re in. And from this same collection, there’s a beautiful 20 year run of FANTASTIC FOUR that is available. If you’re interested in making an offer on the lot, which covers 1980’s/90’s years, let me know.

I’m working on obtaining another late Silver Age/early Bronze Age collection that’s in pretty nice shape. It’s a one owner collection, with a heavy emphasis on DC. I’ll keep you informed if the we acquire it. It’s fairly extensive, so we’ll have our work cut out for us.

We’re continuing our twice a month auctions with a new batch of killer stuff starting this Wednesday, March 3rd. Check out this selection: GREEN LANTERN #14 from 1944, BATMAN #37 from 1946, and a late Golden Age BATMAN, #99 from 1956! Representing the Silver Age, SGT ROCK’S PRIZED BATTLE TALES, a tough-to-find 80 page GIANT from 1964, AMAZING SPIDERMAN #121, featuring the classic death of Gwen Stacy, and AMAZING SPIDERMAN #98, a VF/NM copy, with the famous drug plot storyline!

Don’t forget this is the last chance to bid on the current auction which includes Batman #26, the third appearance of the JLA in Brave and Bold #30, Green Hornet #14, a beautiful copy of World’s Finest #14 and more! This auction ends tomorrow night at 6 PM so check it out under the auction tab on the AABC website.

And the deal of the week? Upwards of 1,000 different BRONZE AGE 1970’s comics (in the boxes on top of the X-men back issue case facing the new the comics near the parking lot side of the store) at 25% off if you buy at least $25.00 or more. This offer valid 3/2/10 through 3/9/10.

See you at the shop!
