Getting off My Duff #57 by Marsha

If you aren’t already on facebook you really, really should sign up and join our All About Books & Comics Fan page.  One of our fans just suggested that Phil should write a book on comics!  What a brilliant idea!

If you are reading this blog I’m guessing that you read Phil’s incredibly insightful comic reviews. If not, you should.  Phil has been wondering who has been reading his reviews, so if you are, now is the time to let him know!  Just tell him you think he should write a book on comics:)  I know the perfect store to sell said book and the perfect store for a special author signing:) Seriously, Phil is the most knowledgeable person we know in the field of comics. He has been reading comics for over 40 years and has retained an encyclopedic repertoire of comic book story-lines. So join us in our campaign to get Phil to write a book about comics!

Now, if it were to be a book about the day in the life of a comic retailer, that would be have to be written by Alan, but we’ll save that campaign for another day:)  Once again our fearless leader, Alan, is enmeshed in pricing a Silver Age DC comic collection.  Said collection should be priced and out for sale tomorrow morning (if he could only stop reading them as he goes). It includes the usual array of Superman Family titles, i.e., Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, Action, Adventure, Superman, Superboy, World’s Finest, as well as Metal Men, Justice League, Detective, Flash and some early Joe Kubert Brave and Bolds. There is also a Showcase #7, an early appearance of Jack Kirby’s Challengers of the Unknown from 1957, the first copy to ever filter into the store!

We spent most of Monday redoing displays to fit much of the new product we’ve been getting in. Check out the two new cases near the Central side of the store that feature Silver and Golden Age and the wall of hats and other specialty product near the parking lot side of the store. More specialty product should be arriving in the next week or two featuring all your favorite comic characters.

So if you are still reading this you are probably looking for the DEAL OF THE WEEK.  Well we want to know who is reading this, so come into the store and tell Alan, Eddie or me that you are looking for your own personal DEAL OF THE WEEK and we will make you a special deal on something you WANT.

This is a good week to find what you WANT, with a huge shipment arriving tomorrow. So see you at the shop!
