GETTING OFF MY DUFF #56

Hello everyone! As you’re well aware of, the store is acquiring some really great stuff lately, and the latest auction ending tomorrow night confirms it. Currently up for bid, we have such Golden Age items as DETECTIVE COMICS, BLACK HOOD, MORE FUN COMICS, and POPEYE #1, a VF 8.0 copy from 1948! In the Silver Age department, there is a copy of TALES OF SUSPENSE #10, SHOWCASE #34, featuring the 1st Silver Age appearance of THE ATOM, FLASH #113…and in nearly 29 years of business, finding ANY Silver Age Flash from #106 to #115 is incredibly hard to do, and one of my favorites of all time, a copy of GREEN LANTERN #1 from 1960! And please remember, layaway for these gems is always available!

And our next auction, beginning Wednesday night, includes these selections: from the Golden Age, BATMAN #26 from 1944, BLACKHAWK #46 from 1951, GREEN HORNET #14 from 1943, POLICE COMICS #33, featuring the inimitable PLASTIC MAN, WHIZ COMICS WHEATIES GIVEAWAY, a super tough-to-find Captain Marvel item from 1946, and WORLD’S FINEST #14 from 1944, featuring one of those classic cardboard stock covers from the WWII era. What’s in the auction from the Silver Age you ask? Try this out: AMAZING ADVENTURES #1 from 1961, featuring the very FIRST Marvel SA superhero from King Kirby himself, BRAVE AND THE BOLD #30 from 1960, with the 3rd SA appearance of JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA, TALES TO ASTONISH #8, and a truly classic collectible to filter into the store, WONDER WOMAN #105 from 1959, listed as SCARCE in the Overstreet price guide, meaning, there’s less than 100 COPIES LEFT IN EXISTENCE!

Comic books like the ones listed above make life worth living! No more needs to be said, other than, it’s a pretty big shipment this week you guys, so I hope to see you all in the store this Wednesday!

Alan
P.S. I’m looking at another mouth-watering DC Silver Age collection on Thursday, with quite a few books from the 1961/62 era. I’ll let you know if I purchase it.
P.S.S. Hey, I almost forgot the “Deal of the Week!” Yes indeed, we’re drowning in back issues, so it’s 20% OFF ALL BACK ISSUES (not valid on consignment books) from Feb.16th to Feb.23rd, as long as you mention the blog.
P.S.S.S. Now I’m done.
