Hello everyone!
This Wednesday begins our special “One Week Auction” event that features 12 mouthwatering Golden Age (1940’s) comics from the 650 piece collection we just received! Just take a gander at some of the notables from this selection: ACTION COMICS #76, ADVENTURE COMICS #83, BOY COMMANDOS #5, featuring Simon and Kirby, HANGMAN #8, STAR SPANGLED COMICS #31, and WOW COMICS #23! We’re offering a BUY IT NOW feature on each of these books, so to insure you receiving one of these classic gems, we urge you to use this option. (Auction starts 1/13 and ends 1/20) Another 50 or 60 books from this collection will be added to a new display case on Wednesday, with most in the humor or “funny animal” vein. Just priceless stuff. Also, don’t forget to check out the display case on the parking lot side of the store that Marsha just completed. It’s chock full of more GA gems. An early SENSATION COMICS and ACTION COMICS just sold out of there in the last 48 hours, so I’ll nudge you again; don’t wait if you want any of these key books for your collection. Yes, we’re in a tough economy, but collector’s know real value when they see it!
And just for something a little different from two separate comic book collections that we purchased at the end of last year, part of both collections contained sports memorabilia! A Central side display case this week will feature a collection of SIGNED Baseballs, most from the last 20 years, and signed by minor and major league players. Very affordable stuff here you guys, with no ball priced more than $10.00! The case will also feature mostly 1950’s to the 1960’s SPORTS ILLUSTRATED magazines, with such gems as the first SWIMSUIT issue from 1964! And oh yea, sports related comic books will be featured too!
And the proud parent will also reiterate that #1 son BEN will be a guest star this week on a new episode of BONES. It’s on the Fox network, airing this THURSDAY at 7 p.m! He’s a tough guy in this one, playing a New Mexico sheriff!
