Getting Off My Duff #38

What to do with all the AABC overstock? Well, offer it first to my loyal customer base before putting it into cold…er…warm storage! Ashley and I broke down two shelves of JLA overstock this morning and in its stead we placed a really nice assortment, as in 1,500 or so books, of SUPERMAN related issues. The selection includes: MAN OF STEEL, SUPERMAN/BATMAN, ALL STAR SUPERMAN, ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, and SUPERMAN. This is all new stock the Professor has culled from the backroom in the last two weeks. So bring in your want lists and have at it all for cover price!

This week, Phil and I purchased one of those unique odd-ball collections that filter into the store periodically. This collection consists of items featuring the creative and artistic genius of JACK KIRBY! There are numerous copies of the early 1970’s magazine, IN THE DAYS OF THE MOB, and SPIRITWORLD. There are PORTFOLIOS, one even signed by King Kirby, UNOPENED BOXES of Jack Kirby collector cards, a wonderful assortment of JACK KIRBY COLLECTOR and QUARTERLY, and a coverless copy of FANTASTIC FOUR #3! Of special interest, a framed print,  delineated and signed by Jack in the mid 1980’s, one of only 200 printed! Marsha will work her magic on Wednesday and make everything all nice and pretty for your perusal. Please, come in and admire this man’s legacy! (and to longtime customer, CHRIS C…this means you!)

And the deal of the week? Well, let’s honor Mr. Kirby by discounting any comic with a Kirby cover.  So mention the blog and get 20% off any comic in the store with a cover done by Jack Kirby!

See you at the shop!
