Hello Everyone! Ashley, Dan and I have been tenaciously bagging, boarding, and pricing thousands of comic books this week and adding these books to the 40,000 already on display. As stated earlier, this is an original owner collection, purchased from us over the last 25 years. The books are in absolutely splendid shape; easily the majority in the NM+ 9.6 range of condition. We’re up to the “M’s” today, and the real work starts at the end of the week when we tackle the…gulp…”S’s”! (Think SUPERMAN, and all incarnations of this title, SPIDERMAN, ETC.!) This week we’ve added everything from BATMAN, CAPTAIN AMERICA, DETECTIVE COMICS, FANTASTIC FOUR, GREEN LANTERN, HULK, IRON MAN, IMPULSE (which we really needed), MARTIAN MANHUNTER, and…NIGHT FORCE (?). Night Force, by the way, was a short lived but great series from Gene Colan and DC in the early 1980’s! SHADOW OF THE BAT was another great run added to the sales floor, which, strangely, we had none on display before adding these! I’m missing tons of titles that I’m forgetting to mention, but suffice it to say, there’ll be thousands of books added for you to peruse through by the upcoming July 4th sale. Bring in your want lists!
The Professor has also been hard at work straightening and just giving an early summer cleaning to the office/Silver Age room. And boy, did it need it. Our very nice selection of CLASSICS ILLUSTRATED, a title always in demand, is now completely in order. And finally, our selection of MAD MAGAZINE, which goes back to the early 1950’s comic book size format of this publication, is also in chronological order. Phil has selected hundreds of issues from the last 40 years to be discounted, and we’re featuring these gems at $1.99 each in a great selection up front on the Central side of the store. Check ’em out as you enter the store, where Marsha has featured some of the very early MAD’s in a glass display case. Great items for Father’s Day! (Hint, hint)
