So the Professor will be done with the act of pedagogy (that doesn’t sound right!) in the next week, and, never one for lethargy, he’ll be back for the summer sorting and pricing and needing room to add more back issues to the sales floor. Phil is always after me to add more back issue boxes. Isn’t 266 boxes with approximately 40,000 comic books on display enough? Quite simply, no it’s not. Which leads me to the deal of the week. As per norm, mention the blog this week and take 20% off your purchase from the selection of back issue comics on display in the center of the store. Please note: the discount does not include comics off the wall, the Bronze and Silver Age display boxes, the glass cases, or tables of consignment back issues. But the deal includes A LOT of books my fellow aficionados, with some selections going back to the Silver Age. Ya’ know, we’ve sold the heck out of the paperback Star Trek books we picked up a couple of months ago. Out of the 200 or so, we have about 75 left. If you’ve seen the new ST movie, you know why Kirk and company have been such a huge part of our American pop culture for the last 40 years. Wonderfully cast, and an absolutely brilliant story. I mention the books because they’re still 2 for a buck. (In the bin to the immediate right as you come in from the west parking lot entrance) We need the space (there we go with the space issue again!) for something else at the end of the week, so grab now before we bulk out the rest.
And just in from an old convention dealer in New York, a couple of boxes of mostly Silver and Bronze books that we just finished pricing, and it’s up on the counter at the west end of the store awaiting your perusal.
And how cool is this: it will be Xmas in the next couple of weeks at All About Books and Comics. No, the heat hasn’t gotten to me yet….more on this next week!
