With Thanksgiving this week let me begin this blog by telling you, our loyal friends and customers how thankful Alan and I are to you, for helping us remain in business for 28 years. Next Tues. Dec. 1st will be our 28th Anniversary in the store!
With economic times being as rough as they are we know how fortunate we are and we want to give back. All About Books & Comics will be adopting a family in need for the holidays. A pre-Thanksgiving back issue sale is now in progress and runs through tomorrow Wed. Nov. 25th. 20% OFF ALL BACK ISSUES in the store with most consignment included.
Speaking of back issue comics, last night we picked up a great Late Golden Age/ Early Silver Age collection. The majority of the books are Westerns including Lone Ranger, Tom Mix, Roy Rogers etc. and a few Classics Illustrated. There are a handful of Superhero books including two Action Comics, a Silver Age Batman and a Golden Age Detective as well as a Star Spangled Comics featuring Robin from 1950. There are a few obscurities, Astonishing from Atlas, Alarming Tales, Fawcett’s Marvel Family and more. Alan is pricing these books today to get them out quickly for you to check out, so stop by early for best selection.
The DEAL OF THE WEEK is an extra 5% off on back issues. So instead of the 20% off back issue pre-Thanksgiving sale, if you mention the blog you get 25% off. The regular 20% back issue sale ends Wed. but mention the blog, and the DEAL OF THE WEEK will be good through Sun. 11/29.
New Comics are ON TIME this week, on Wed. and it is a big shipment! Please note that we will be closing at 6PM instead of the usual 8PM on Wednesday, and we will be closed Thanksgiving Day.
For those of you collecting the Lantern rings, the last two arrive on Wed. Buy Blackest Night #5 and received a FREE green ring and buy JLA #39 and receive a FREE red ring.
And if you are going to be out shopping this weekend you may want to stop by All About Books & Comics and other local retailers instead of fighting the crowds at the malls and big box stores. You can help keep the Mom and Pop shops in Phoenix open:)
