Ok, so I have to get this missive done before running off to “spin” class to keep this 56 year old body going! Cardio, cardio and more cardio. I get my weight lifting done by hauling 50 pound boxes of comics around the store all day!
Onto comic book matters, our Florida source for mostly Silver Age DC’s just sent a really nice batch of mid to late 1960’s books. Nicely represented in this collection is BATMAN and DETECTIVE, and some great condition FLASH! All will be priced tonight, and displayed tomorrow on the north wall behind the cash wrap on the parking lot side entrance.
Do I really need to tell you that by Thursday of this week we will have put out another new selection of about 100 packets of various comic sets since last time I wrote you? Nah; I didn’t think so. You might be sick of me talking about this, but I’m not sick of doin’ ’em. You have to be checking ’em out, because there’s always room to put out more! So thank you!
This is probably the last week that the cover price JUSTICE LEAGUE selection will be featured on the sales floor. In its place will be an enormous new batch of cover price SUPERMAN related comics, many issues back to the 1970’s! (The Professor NEVER gives up in the back room!) I’m vascillating on this though, cuz I was hoping to feature an assortment of 1,500 or so overstock WILDSTORM books I’ve had in cold storage for awhile. If you’re reading this and you have a preference, let me know in the next week or so. I’m not sold on either one of these lines…so YOU TELL ME!
And the deal of the week? The whole store is 50% OFF!!!!!….just kidding. I do have two different consign collections that are 50% off though! On the parking lot side of the store on one of the display cases, you’ll find an assortment of six boxes whose computerized stickers read, “consign Gingerich,” with a really nice selection of BATMAN related back issues. On another display counter at the West end of the store, another six boxes read, “consign Eddy” that has an abundance of Bronze Age books. Buy one or a hundred books at 50% OFF. Ya’ just have to mention reading this blog to get the discount. This deal is good through 10/13.
I had the door open all morning to let in all that cool 80 degree air! Life is good.
