Getting off my Duff #17 by Marsha
So Alan has been completely inundated with collections the last couple of weeks so he asked me to fill in. Just to bring you up to date we’ve received approximately 8000 back issue comics in the last couple of weeks and have 2 more collections arriving in the next week or so. We just got in some really nice high end books as well as some lower grade Silver Age Marvel and DC comics and a large group of CGC books. Check out the next auction which begins tomorrow night for some of these gems including Amazing Spider-man #129 (which … Continue reading

Phil's Reviews — Stuff I Bought #121
Secret Six #9 — Writer: Gail Simone; Penciller: Nicola Scott; Inker: Doug Hazelwood Catman, Bane and ‘Doll go to a now-Batmanless Gotham City to help out against a wave of child kidnappings, and fight crime in their own cheerful, lethal fashion. Between the clear storytelling and the spot-on characterization (Nightwing appears near the end, and Simone is perfect at showing the enormous stick he’s always had up his butt), this continues to be a fun guilty pleasure, and one of the better super-“hero” titles on the stands right now. Ask the Professor #28 — 2 Months' Worth of Questions…
OK, kids, with school about done, the ol’ Professor is finally getting back to the questions that have been trickling in over the last few… er, months. Here’s one from March 5: What happened to pengiun when he was born Now, in fairness to the Professor, there’s not a lot that can be said in response to this question: young Oswald Cobblepot came out in the normal way, took a breath, and there he was. His mother wasn’t frightened by any Antarctic waterfowl while he was in the womb, and he wasn’t bitten by any radioactive penguins or anything — … Continue reading

Getting off My Duff #16
So the Professor will be done with the act of pedagogy (that doesn’t sound right!) in the next week, and, never one for lethargy, he’ll be back for the summer sorting and pricing and needing room to add more back issues to the sales floor. Phil is always after me to add more back issue boxes. Isn’t 266 boxes with approximately 40,000 comic books on display enough? Quite simply, no it’s not. Which leads me to the deal of the week. As per norm, mention the blog this week and take 20% off your purchase from the selection of back … Continue reading
